Funerals

St Nicholas Church in Thanington is available for Church of England funerals. The churchyard is now closed for burials, with the exception of burial of ashes or burial into an existing family grave.

What does the church offer?

The church provide a minister to conduct the funeral service. A verger will make sure the church is open and ready for use. The verger can also assist with seating arrangements, welcoming mourners and giving out orders of service. The church can comfortably seat 70 people but can hold up to 100 people.

The church has an organ as well as facilities to play recorded music. The church does not have its own  choir but we can put you in touch with other local choirs who may be able to help.

How does a church funeral get organised?
